North Lenoir Fire & Rescue Deputy Chief Tyler Moore was recently selected as a recipient of a $4,000 scholarship from the North Carolina Association of Rescue and EMS. Deputy Chief Moore is currently attending UNC Fayetteville State where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire and Emergency Services Administration. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA and plans to complete his degree in the Fall of 2019.
Deputy Chief Moore is excited about receiving the scholarship. “I’m honored to be named as a recipient of the NCAREMS scholarship this year,” he said. “I would like to thank the selection committee and my wife Brittany for her continued support.”
Each year, the North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services awards thirty $4,000.00 scholarships to thirty eligible members who will enroll in a four year course of study at a North Carolina college or university beginning in the Fall after receiving the scholarship.
Awards shall be based upon the student’s scholastic achievement, intellectual ability, financial need, character and promise of future contribution to our State and Nation. This Awards Program provides $975,000.00 per year in scholarships to 480 children of eligible members and members of rescue squads and emergency medical services in North Carolina.
